CHRISTMAS FOOD BASKETS

Sponsored by Presbyterian Women and Deacons

We are collecting food to fill baskets that are distributed by the Delaware County Youth and Family Services to needy families throughout the county. Our goal is 20 baskets.

The following items are needed to make up each basket, the essentials for a holiday dinner.

Turkey (gift certificate)

Coffee, tea, juice

Macaroni and cheese

Grape Jelly

Canned yams,

potatoes, vegetable

Stuffing mix

Cranberry sauce

Peanut butter

The following is a list of the canned and non-perishable items that can also be included:

Canned Fruit Rice Pasta Ice tea mix Jello

Hot chocolate 5 lb. bag of sugar Tomato sauce Shake and bake

Beans (all kinds) Stews and Soups Broth (beef or chicken) Syrup

Pancake mix Rice-a-roni Cereal Tuna Flour

All excess is distributed evenly among the baskets.  Monetary contributions would also be appreciated to purchase the turkey gift certificates and to defray the cost of the laundry baskets we put the food in. Cash donations or checks made payable to Princeton Presbyterian Church, annotating “Christmas Basket,” can be given to Lin Buchta or Carolyn Jeffrey, or placed in a marked envelope in the offering plate.    Help us to be a blessing by contributing items for the Christmas Food baskets!

When Jesus was born, his family was poor and far from home. They depended on strangers for a safe place to stay and clothes to wrap their newborn baby in. Many babies in our time are born to people with few resources to make the world a welcoming place for their child. During Advent, you are invited to bring gifts for a baby to Chambers and place them in the manger in the sanctuary. Diapers, baby blankets, clothes are all needed. After Christmas, the items will be taken to Pres-byterian Children’s Village to be distributed to babies they support
